Some of what you're carrying doesn't have a safe place to land. Not at the Shabbos table, not with your sister, not with the rebbetzin who means well but doesn't have clinical training.
Individual therapy gives you a room where the thing you've never said out loud can exist without consequences.
Your therapist isn't part of your community. She doesn't know your mother in law. She's not going to run into you at the grocery store and give you a look. That separation matters, and it's by design.
The clinical issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, are the same ones treated in any therapy office.
The difference is that your therapist already understands the specific pressures that made it so hard to walk through the door in the first place.
Your therapist will select and integrate evidence-based modalities based on your unique needs:
Individual therapy can also be combined with our Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, equine-assisted therapy, holistic therapies, and family therapy for a comprehensive treatment experience.
Evidence based treatment and religious life aren't in conflict.
CBT doesn't ask you to stop keeping Shabbos.
EMDR doesn't require you to reject your upbringing.
DBT skills work whether you're using them in a boardroom or at a family simcha that's triggering every anxiety response you have.
Your therapist integrates these modalities with an understanding of where your faith fits in your life, whether it's a source of strength, a source of pain, or something complicated that's both.
Nothing gets dismissed, and nothing gets imposed.
The clinical work stays clinical, and your relationship with observance stays yours.
Your first session is a comprehensive intake assessment lasting approximately 60 minutes. Your therapist will:
Confidentiality isn't just a legal requirement.
It's the foundation of why this works.
Your intake, your records, your attendance are all protected under HIPAA.
Nobody from your community, your family, or your shul will know you're here unless you choose to tell them.
If you need to schedule around community events or avoid certain times when someone might see you near the office, your therapist will work with you on that.
These aren't unusual requests.
They're standard practice for the women we work with.
